Thyroid anaplastic carcinoma (TAC) is rare among thyroid cancers. Few surveys on these diseases are available.Aim: To analyze the clinical and pathological characteristics of TAC in Auvergne, France, from a series of 26 patients among a cohort of over 1500 thyroid carcinomas (i.e. 1.7% of total thyroid cancers).Results: Mean age was 72.1 years (range 42–91 years), with a sex ratio of 19 women to 7 men.
